The People
One of the cornerstones of Yellow Rock Sanctuary is our commitment to organic living. We believe in the power of nature to heal and sustain us and this belief is reflected in everything we do. Pat suffered for many years with debilitating back pain, his healing journey was neither easy nor fast but today he lives pain free, happy, healthy & very clear on what it takes to create the kind of discipline needed for authentic healing. He is both a quiet & grounded man and it is rare to see him outside the gardens of Yellow Rock Sanctuary. When you come to visit this incredible place Pat's spirit, energy and commitment are evident everywhere. Everything you see and experience has been built, planted, grown, nurtured and loved by Pat for your healing journey.
Pat’s own personal healing journey inspired his desire to create a space for others to enjoy as they too searched for their healing & a way back to themselves. With his love for animals & nature he is dedicated to making the space that is Yellow Rock Sanctuary everything it needs to be for those who visit. His faith in every person’s capacity to find their own way as they begin to turn a bad moment into a powerful experience gives him the confidence to know that Yellow Rock Sanctuary is the perfect compliment to finding renewal & regeneration.
Pat utilizes his many years experience as a martial arts expert to help people find the physical balance in his weekly stretching class. The level of discipline Pat applies to his life is impressive at every level. For him living a life that is healthy, balanced & fulfilling must be experienced by actions that are healthy, balanced & fulfilling. He does not suffer fools gladly and has a great appreciation for grounded, logical perspectives. He is the wise man disguised as a great gardener.

From a young age Mathilde was aware of the physical, emotional and psychological experiences of life as connected but also as, seemingly independent experiences. To say she suffered being in this world as a child would be a gentle way to speak of what she went through as she searched to find a sense of safety and to understand what is real versus what seems real but is not. She did not fit into the ‘ordinary, normal’ world too easily. Of course, that is common for children who are born with a certain perspective and the ability to see through facades, illusions & shallowness.
Mathilde plays a significant role in the gardens, grounds & polly tunnels at Yellow Rock Sanctuary and takes the lead in the creation of the oils, balms, herbs and other natural plant medicines used in healing process. Her focus in this respect is on the physical aspects of a persons healing journey and bringing the body the kind of balance it needs for well-being to become the primary experience. She also facilitates the weekly creativity and body flow class by way of supporting people as they explore what it is to tap into their emotional body
As a profound introvert Mathilde lives very happily in her own company and prefers silence over conversation, but when she speaks she speak great truth.

Marcus was once described by a corporate client as being ‘frighteningly comfortable with discomfort’. His ability to confront situations, circumstances & perspectives that most others run away from gives him a special position to help those who are struggling in life, those who are ready to go to the next level & those who want a complete emotional and psychological reset.
In Yellow Rock Sanctuary Marcus takes care of the guests healing journey when it comes to the world of mindfulness & mindlessness. He says, ‘You will find what you need the most, beyond the mind, the problem is you only have the mind to go beyond the mind’. Marcus is a master at guiding people towards that place beyond the mind where the true self is and helping them realize what it takes to live from truth, authenticity & fearlessness. Albeit that Marcus believes compassion, gentleness & kindness should be included in the healing journey, he believes they should be used to sooth people in pain from the healing experience and never to nurture people in stories of avoidance, victimization or sabotage.
Marcus is a natural disrupter, he makes the comfortable uncomfortable & he awakens the sleeping. He knows that healing only has a chance when you shift perspective, confront avoidance & face what you are in denial of. It doesn’t matter if you are looking for a psychological shift, emotional empowerment or physical healing… to Marcus its all the same thing from a different perspective.
