Stay With Us
Yellow Rock Sanctuary offers a quiet place to step out of the noise of everyday life and return to a more natural rhythm of being. Surrounded by woodland, gardens and open skies, the sanctuary provides a simple environment where silence, nature and shared presence allow the mind and body to settle.
People come here for many different reasons. Some arrive feeling tired from the pace and pressure of modern life. Others are moving through periods of uncertainty, anxiety or change and need space to reflect. Some come because meditation or self-inquiry has become important in their lives. And many arrive simply because the search for answers has become exhausting and they feel ready to pause and look more deeply.
Whether you stay for a few days or a few weeks, the atmosphere of the sanctuary supports rest, quiet reflection and the simple recognition of the awareness in which life is already unfolding.
Most guests stay between two or three days and a week, although some come for longer periods when they feel the need for deeper rest and clarity.

Ways to Stay
There are several ways to experience Yellow Rock Sanctuary, depending on what feels most natural for you.
1. Monthly Silent Retreat
Each month we host a three-day silent retreat where guests share meditation, quiet reflection and teachings pointing to the understanding of non-duality. These retreats offer a gentle but focused environment for those wishing to step more deeply into silence.
For retreat dates and details, please see the Events Page.
We also offer one-day silent retreats from time to time. These provide a simple introduction for those who have never experienced silence in this way and would like a first taste of retreat life.
2. DIY Retreat (Self-Guided Stay)
Many guests prefer to create their own retreat rhythm. During a self-guided stay you are free to spend your days quietly in the sanctuary - walking the land, sitting in the gardens, resting, reading or meditating.
You may also choose to join optional sessions that support relaxation and presence, including:
-
Meditation sessions
-
Gentle body movement and alignment
-
Breathwork and yoga
-
Tai Chi and Qi Gong
-
Creative expression workshops
-
Healing therapies such as massage or reflexology
-
Nature and sustainability practices connected to the land
-
One to One Sessions of self-enquiry and coaching
These offerings are not structured programs but simple invitations that support a quieter, more attentive way of being. In advance of arriving we will have, set out with you, a schedule that gives you what you need to utilize you time here at the sanctuary.
3. Weekly Meditation Gatherings
For those who live locally or prefer shorter visits, we host several meditation sessions each week. These gatherings offer a welcoming space to sit together in stillness and explore the understanding of non-duality through meditation and shared presence.
Full details and times can be found on the Events Page.
4. Workshops & Learning Events
Throughout the year we host a range of workshops that explore the practical expression of presence and self-understanding in everyday life.

Testimonials
Yellow Rock Sanctuary is a gem; a warm, supportive place to take time out. Pat, Mathilde and Marcus take care of every aspect of your stay. The surroundings are beautiful and the food is fantastic--the freshness you get when "farm to fork" is a matter of meters. I was amazed by Pat and Mathilde's ability to feed us from their own produce even at the end of January. I look forward to returning later in the year to see the woods in leaf.
